Treasurers report - Approved.- Kester sent reports in his absence.
it was moved by Cathy and seconded by Rhonda to give the After-prom
and Scandi day same amount as last year. MC
Old Business-
Discussed lease has not yet been signed, awaiting word from corporate.
Report form Danny re: Notes from the Underground. Attendance was not
great, but was a good experience & good start to the tour. LeRoy will
figure the $$ and send check to John Ellis next week.
The wheeled racks have been delivered to the Mall, but not put together
The book for ordering hooks for wall has been left at the mall for
Veronica to choose and or check with the Mall People to see if they
have the existing ones in storage.
New Business-
Cathy H. reported on Kiss Me Kate! Auditions are done and the
read-thru went well except for the 2 cast members without an excused
absence! Backdrop is almost completed and Cathy will be sending our
weekly updates for cast and board. There will NOT be a “meet the cast”
for this show and they will move into the theater on May16th. Viking
Hall is reserved and we are again renting the sound mixer board from
Derek Navratil. It was discussed that he thinks we should buy our own
but the troupe feeling is that it’s not going to happen any time soon.
It is quite an expense and would currently be used only once a year.
The Judge is getting the scholarship applications out to Gilbert,
South Hamilton and Roland-Story. The new scholarship committee will be
Amanda Nations, Danny Ellis and Paul Wierson ( this is what happens
when you don’t attend, Paul)
It was brought up that we really need to “push” for a Children’s
theatre next fall. Danny offered to direct the orchestra if a show and
director/directors is found. Options were discussed and we hope to
encourage parents of kids of past shows.
Danny presented a proposal for he and Veronica for the Scandinavian
Days musical 2011. “Little Women, the Musical” is a newer show with a
small cast and great music. Danny brought one song “ Astonishing” to
the troupe to hear. Being no quorum present it was moved by Cathy and
seconded by Amanda to request votes per email. It is assumed this
will pass and become our next big musical. This is offered through
MTI.
Meeting adjourned and next meeting will be April 11, 2010. Same time /
same place
Respectfully submitted by Marian Olive, Temp. Sec’t pro tem.
